Fira de Barcelona is a venue with two sites: FIRA MONJUIC has been operating for almost 100 years. FIRA GRAN VIA M2 is partly operating as it is still under construction The FIRA MONJUIC exhibition site occupies an area of 224.000 m2 and comprises the highest quality facility and services, hosting over 60 fairs and conventions each year. The same venue is home to the Conference Centre, which has a large multiple-use auditorium and several smaller halls, with an overall seating capacity of 4500 people. The availability of other halls and exhibition areas allows major conferences of over 25,000 participants to be organised. Its strategic central location give Montjuic access to all services and infrastructure of a large city such as Barcelona. FIRA GRAN VIA M2 offers modern exhibition and meeting space. In 2009 Fira de Barcelona will complete the expansion of its new facilities in Gran Via, located at only 2.5 km from Montjuic, Fira's historic exhibition centre, and 10 km from the airport. Fira will then have 5 halls plus an auditorium building next to hall 5. When completed, the Gran Via exhibition centre will have a total of 240,000 m2 of exhibition space in 6 pavillions and over 5,000 parking spaces.
