The AEV Sustainability Working Group brings together passionate and like-minded members with one goal - to reduce the effect our industry has on the environment. As venue teams, we believe we should lead by example and have a positive impact on the way people think and behave when it comes to sustainability.
At the AEV meetings we operate in an open forum which enables us to learn from one another and to share best practice. We also discuss challenging problems including changes in legislation that have an impact on our industry.
Being part of the Working Group offers great networking opportunities, as well as opportunities to hear from guest speakers from a variety of environmental professions. It also allows you to build up a set of peers that can be called upon for advice and to share venue insight which helps us all work towards achieving our shared goal."
"I've been attending the AEV HR Working Group since it commenced and have found it to be a helpful way to network with fellow HR professionals within the industry.
The main benefit is the AEV salary survey which is a valuable source of venue specific data, including both salary and benefit comparisons which can then be used as part our our benchmarking process.
The group now only meets once a year, taking very little actual time away from the office, but also opens up the opportunity to ask questions and share feedback or ideas via the AEV network."
