Harrogate Toy Fair on Bank Holiday Monday - Yorkshire Event Centre
The Yorkshire Event Centre is to host a massive Toy Collectors Fair on Bank Holiday Monday 3rd May.
Visitors to the show - the largest in the north of England - will find an amazing array of collectables for sale. Star Wars and Dr Who action figures, model railways, teddy bears, dolls, Dinky Toys, Scalextric and Action Man are just some of the collectables on offer at the fair.
Specialist dealers will be travelling from all over the UK to exhibit at the show, which will feature 350 stalls packed full of toys, trains and models. Prices start from just £1 and can go up to several hundred pounds for the very rarest collectables.
Barry Potter, organiser of the event commented on the forthcoming fair, "We held our first event here at Harrogate in January and were delighted with the numbers of visitors through the doors. Most of the visitors to our toy fairs are in fact adults who want to bring back a few happy memories or to build up a small collection, whether it be Hornby trains, Star Wars figures, dolls or Subbuteo. There are plenty of items to interest children of course, but we find that it's the older generations that really get the collecting bug. I think everyone loves a bit of nostalgia".
Visitors will be able to pick up a free copy of the book "The Toy Job" by Barry Potter at the show. Normally £9.99, the book details Barry's lifetime involved in collecting toys and trains as well as his years of buying and selling, setting up an auction business and, of course, running the toy fairs. The book is hardbacked and colour illustrated with 200 pages and will be free to pick up at the entrance to the fair.
The show starts at 10.30am on Bank Holiday Monday 3rd May, admission is £3.50 Adults, £3 Senior Citizens and £1 Children (under 5's are free) and parking at the venue is free.
