Deco Delights coming to the Yorkshire Event Centre

Bowman Antiques Fairs of Shipley are organising the second Yorkshire Antiques and Art Fair on Saturday and Sunday 22nd and 23rd May at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate.

“We staged the first fair with this format last November and it was met with a great deal of enthusiasm.  We have settled on organising just two fairs every year to keep the enthusiasm and support high and to make it an important event of the antiques calendar.   Harrogate is famous for its lively interest in antiques and we felt that there was a demand for a large 250 stand plus event offering a mix of antiques across a wide range of disciplines. We are also attempting to bring a wider public to the fair rather than just the traditional antiques buyers and to further this ambition alongside the good quality Georgian furniture and the 18th century Irish silver we have some truly fabulous examples of 20th century Art and design including a Rene Lalique Perruches opalescent glass bowl dating from 1931 exhibited by Deco Dave from Lincolnshire.

Other 20th century items showing include a very good display of Clarice Cliff ceramics from Andrew Muir the leading UK specialist.   Le Style 21 from London will be bringing a very good selection of top quality art deco furniture and furnishings.   Polka Dot vintage from Harrogate will be showing an interesting and unusual range of vintage textiles, accessories and kitchenalia. The selection of fine art is good, Shaun Lawrie Art from Cheshire will be exhibiting with a number of contemporary artists including Sid Kirkham’s atmospheric watercolour of Leeds United Supporters walking into Elland Road. Whilst Reed Fine Art from Masham specialise in Victorian oils and watercolours and works of art.  Local dealers, Park Antiques of Menston will be standing with first quality 18th 19th and 20th century furniture and 18th and 19th century ceramics.

All this, in the two halls of the Yorkshire Event Centre, Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate HG2 8QZ.  Opening times 10am-5pm each day. Admission £4/adult. Children under 16 free of charge.
