Pavilions of Harrogate and Yorkshire Event Centre continue to improve their environmental and sustainable credentials by recently having all their radiators fitted with insulation panels.
Nearly 200 panels were supplied and fitted by Harrogate company, Thermosave. They are a unique profiled thermal insulator, which should save over 25% on future gas bills and reduce the energy consumption and annual CO2 emissions of the venues by 6.324 metric tonnes.
With a normal radiator, up to 40% of the heat generated is used to heat the walls and windows, rather than the room. The aim of the Thermosave panels is to reflect the heat back into the room, thus improving heat circulation, making rooms warmer and eliminating cold spots.
Robert Whiteley, General Manager at Pavilions of Harrogate, said, “We and our parent company the Yorkshire Agricultural Society continue to be dedicated to improve our sustainability and environmental credentials across our business. This was just one of many plans we have to continue to develop sustainable conferences and events at our venue. Mike Jones and his team at Thermosave have helped make significant savings to our utility bills and carbon footprint”.
