The 1st edition of CARTES in Asia opens at AsiaWorld-Expo
The inaugural CARTES in Asia exhibition and congress opens today and runs until 18 March 2010 at AsiaWorld-Expo. The show features over 100 exhibitors with half comes from Asia Pacific region and another half from Europe, providing a perfect trading platform for the industry.
“Smart technology is growing faster in Asia Pacific and Greater China than in any other region in the world, which creates extraordinary business opportunities,” remarked Mr. Michael Weatherseed, Director of Comexposium's Security Division, which includes the Milipol and Cartes brands. “Nowadays, Asia Pacific accounts for 34% of the world’s smart card market share, with an annual rapid growth rate of 30%.”
The first edition of CARTES in Asia gains the full support from the China Information Industry Trade Association (CIITA), China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and major Chinese smart card and general industry associations including China Golden Card Ltd, RFID China Alliance. A dedicated China Pavilion with the theme of “The National Golden Card Projects Excellent Achievements” can also be seen at this inaugural edition of CARTES in Asia.
