The organiser of AVEX International, the Automatic Vending Association (AVA), has announced that the show will return to the NEC in 2017; stating the Birmingham venue’s unrivalled connectivity as a key driver in the decision.

AVEX International – the UK’s largest biennial vending exhibition – was previously hosted at the NEC but relocated to Manchester in 2015. Following the move, feedback from visitors and exhibitors indicated that the NEC was on reflection the preferred location, resulting in the organiser’s decision to return to Birmingham next year.

Commenting on the return, Rosie Mills, Exhibition and Events Manager for the AVA, said: “Whilst we had a great show in Manchester, we know that the NEC is the right venue for our event. The experience of our visitors and exhibitors is of utmost important to us, so when they told us that they found the NEC much easier to travel to because of its central location and accessibility, we listened. Our experience of working with the NEC has always been extremely positive; they have a brilliant team working behind the scenes so we know we will be in capable hands.”

Since AVEX International was last at the NEC, there has been an exciting development on site, which Jenny Wright, Business Development Executive at the NEC, believes provides an added draw for organisers, visitors and exhibitors.

She said: “Resorts World Birmingham offers visitors to the NEC campus the opportunity to work, rest or play outside the hours of an exhibition on site, which wasn’t an option when AVEX International was last hosted here. We know that everyone involved in the show is really excited about experiencing this new element to our offering for the first time. We look forward to welcoming them all back and are confident that we can help deliver the biggest and best show yet.”

AVEX, which is owned by the Automatic Vending Association (AVA) and partnered by the European Drinking Water Cooler Association (EDWCA), is the vending and water industry’s most important event. From the industry’s major manufacturers to leading operators and service companies, AVEX showcases the most up-to-date and complete range of products and services available to the sector.
