Ideal Home Show celebrates 70 years with addition of new food festival

12 Jun 2017 Scottish Event Centre

The Ideal Home Show Scotland celebrated its 70th anniversary between 25-27 May by returning to the Scottish Event Campus. Bigger and better than ever before, organisers Media 10 introduced its new Eat and Drink Festival to an audience of over 40,000.

This weekend saw celebrities including Olly Smith and George Clarke welcome visitors to the event to see some spectacular features of the including ideas for home improvements and hints & tips in the kitchen.

Breda Cruickshank, Head of Exhibition Sales at the SEC said: “It’s great to see established events grow and diversify, and the Ideal Home Show is a prime example of an exhibition flourishing after entering into a different sector. Running for over a decade at the SEC the event continues to welcome a mass audience each year and that is testament to the content of the show.”

Giles Perry, Event Director of Ideal Home Show commented: “We have become a well-established brand and we are delighted to celebrate our 70th anniversary in Glasgow. We love coming here, our exhibitors love coming here and the event is really well received. It’s a great event destination and a fantastic audience – people come from all over Scotland and even the North of England to visit.

“With the launch of our new Eat & Drink Festival, we have had to face some typical planning challenges, however, nothing is too much for the SEC and they have been a pleasure to work with. We look forward to growing our show and our new Eat & Drink festival, and there’s no better place to do that than the SEC.”
