The AEV/AEO/ESSA Electrics Technical Committee and the AEV/AEO/ESSA Technology Working Group are holding a joint meeting on May 22, featuring an invited panel of experts, to discuss important new technological developments that fall under both their remits.

Chris Morrison, chair of the Technical Committee, elaborated on portable power solutions, saying, "I am looking forward to this joint meeting of the Technical Electrics and Technology working groups. The advent of portable and off-grid power sources may present significant opportunities within the event industry, but serious consideration must be given to the ramifications of this emerging technology and all of its consequences, unintended or otherwise. The prospect of alternative power sources falls within the purview of both working groups so it seemed natural to convene a joint session to approach this topic."

Amir Vered, chair of the Technology Working Group explained, saying, "In our next meeting we will be delving into the new technologies we have identified at the previous meeting with more detail.  We will also look to generate the one page Connectivity guides for Organisers, Exhibitors & Visitors."
