Scottish Event Campus raises over £11,000 for local Glasgow charity

Scottish Event Centre

The monies were raised through a variety of engagement activities carried out by the SEC's workforce including the building and manning of a spectacular Santa's grotto, complete with plentiful gifts for youngsters who spend their festive period in the hospital.

The Charity also host regular tours with SEC staff to raise awareness of the incredible hospital facilities and all the work that the organisation is doing to make life a little easier for children and families who are in the care of the hospital.

Kirsten Sinclair, Director of Fundraising at Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, said; “I'd like to pass on a heartfelt thank you to everyone at the SEC on behalf of our young patients and their families. Christmas can be a difficult time for our boys and girls, but your exceptional support ensured that the hospital was filled with fun, laughter and Christmas cheer, every single day.

“We are incredibly grateful for every pound raised by the inspiring fundraisers and for every hour given by enthusiastic, warm-hearted volunteers.

“The SEC's support has helped thousands of children throughout December and will continue to support children in 2018.â€'

“We, as an organisation, select partner charities which align closely with our values. Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity is a great example of how we have worked with a partner to develop a relationship which donates more than just money,â€' commented Gayle Shepherd, Director of People and Technology at the SEC.

“At the SEC, we create experiences for people, and we've aimed to mirror this for those who can't make it to our campus to enjoy these events. Working with Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity is a truly humbling experience, and it really gives our teams pride in working for a company which seeks to help others in this way.â€'

The SEC looks set to bring festive cheer to the charity again this year, with the grotto making a much-anticipated return.
