2019 AEV salary survey launches02 May 2019
We have begun our annual Salary Survey exercise for 2019, and invite association members to contribute their salary data to the project. The results, composited and interpreted by survey specialist Explori, will be published and distributed to participating members later this year.
Participating venues will submit their salary data during this first phase, using a specially commissioned web portal, at which point the data will be anonymised. After all submissions have been received the information will be carefully analysed by Explori to reveal trends in salary, commissions, bonuses, pensions, benefits, and holidays. We will be gathering data submitted by venues about remuneration for roles across the industry including IT (new for 2019), sales, marketing, event management, facilities, security and health & safety, with a resolution of up to 4 levels of seniority within each venue.
AEV director, Rachel Parker, welcomed the start of this year's research exercise, saying, “This is the fourth year that we have asked Explori to compile our salary survey. The combination of its expertise and our data is a vital tool in creating meaningful salary benchmarks for the sector, and is growing into a valuable resource for analysing and plotting industry trends."
Parker concluded, "I would like more member venues to participate - the value of this exercise increases with every member that joins the salary survey, whether they are large or small. The more venues that get involved, the more value that our Salary Survey will provide. Over the last two years we have made the submission process more straightforward, and crucially, editable and saveable, meaning that members will be able to complete their submissions at a time and pace of their choosing."
