AEV Conference voted a success by delegates

June witnessed the first conference for the Association of Event Venues (AEV), held at the Business Design Centre, London. It brought together over 120 delegates from member venues, and from a number of organisers and contractors too. With content aimed specifically at the venue teams and potential venue leaders of the future, the day was packed with information and advice.

The programme began with team building expert and author, Simon Hartley who was followed by a talk on Project Griffin and counter terror, then two break out sessions on technology and catering. After lunch, the day resumed with John Probyn speaking on understanding your audience and the day's speakers closed with Will Whitehorn and the impact of change.

Following the conference, the AEV team undertook a satisfaction survey from the delegates, it returned overall approval ratings of over 89%, with particular highlights being identified as the presentations from Simon Hartley and Will Whitehorn.

Rachel Parker, AEV director commented, “I am delighted to say that the conference was an overwhelming success, the AEV board and I would like to thank all the delegates who took a day out of their busy diaries to attend; the speakers for their contribution to making this an exceptional day; the  team at the AEV for making it all happen, and to the Business Design Centre for hosting the conference. I would also like to thank the sponsors whose support made the event possible.”
