AEV eGuide Working Group - 7 May 2015

The AEV eGuide Working Group met on May 7, 2015 at the Manchester Central, with Jonathan Smith of FIVE, Farnborough International Ltd. in the chair. After apologies and a welcome for the new members, the group moved on to discuss a wide range of topics pertaining to proposed changes to the eGuide. With a summer iteration of the eGuide under way, there were a number of significant changes that needed to be discussed and ratified by the group.

The eGuide's catering sub-section will be subject to some major changes in the next iteration, and the group discussed the proposed amendments and additions before final ratification. The proposed amendments to the eGuide regarding doors, platforms, floorplans and build-up and breakdown were all ratified by the Group. The group also discussed the frequency of eGuide publication and reports from other working groups including the Electrics Technical Committee.

Group members were urged by Rachel Parker, AEV director, to register for the cross association Construction & Design Management (CDM) roadshows. The topic of drones and a deeper discussion of CDM compliance was scheduled for the next Group meeting, to be held on October 1, 2015 at The Crystal, Royal Victoria Dock, London.
