AEV establishes top level working group to deliver conference

The Association of Event Venues has formed a working group in order to deliver its first conference, consisting of leading venue personnel from the AEV Board and supported by the director and secretariat of the association.

The working group consists of the current AEV chair, and chief operating officer at the Business Design Centre, Graham Stephenson, managing director of the NEC and past chair of the AEV, Kathryn James, current vice chair Jeremy Rees, Executive director at ExCeL London, Dan Thurlow, sales director of the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, and sales and marketing director of Southwater Event Group, Alison Griffin. Supporting the group are AEV director, Rachel Parker, AEV manager Kim Miles and membership executive Sarah Appleyard.

AEV director Rachel Parker commented, “This highly capable experienced team will help us deliver a conference that appeals to everyone working within a venue organisation. As venue professionals themselves, the group embodies the experience and knowledge needed to devise content that will be relevant and useful to all levels within a venue, ensuring that every delegate will have something of value they can apply back in their own role.

The conference will be taking place at the Business Design Centre, London on 2 June 2016, and it is aimed at personnel working within venues.
