AEV features in Mediaplant Events & Hospitality Campaign


We recently partnered with Mediaplanet UK on the 2016 Events and Hospitality Campaign in The Guardian newspaper and online. Read below from outgoing AEV chair, Graham Stephenson.   

After a period of considerable development and investment, British venues have a new-found confidence. Venues all over the country have, amongst other things, expanded in size with new halls and extensions, and strengthened their technological infrastructure with more high capacity data networks and wireless provision. Many venues have taken inspiration from businesses like boutique hotels and mass transport hubs to create a broad spectrum of event spaces, and have broadened their appeal with additional, dedicated public spaces, hotels, restaurants and retail areas.

From rock concerts to archaeological conferences, venues underpin a vibrant event industry with the foundation it needs to organise and deliver world-class events. Collaborating through their trade association, the Association of Event Venues (AEV), venues have led the way in setting international standards for safe and sustainable events, and are instrumental in the drive to attract more international shows to the UK.
