AEV reveals University of Sheffield Performance Venues as newest member
The Association of Event Venues (AEV) has revealed University of Sheffield Performance Venues, has joined as its newest member.
Comprised of three iconic venues at the University of Sheffield – the Octagon Centre, Firth Hall and the Drama Studio – Performance Venues curate a wide programme of live music and performance events to entertain and educate. Based in the heart of the city, the venues hosts large events, conferences and musical performances representing the magic of live entertainment. The university also has a dedicated £8.5m facility for music teaching and research, including a variety of practice and performance spaces.
Nick Hopwood, head of performance venues for the University of Sheffield said “We provide young people the opportunity to engage with the arts through music and performance projects, as well as supporting the wider community. Our aim is to provide a home in the city for creativity to flourish. Joining the AEV is exciting for us, we are looking forward to sharing our experiences and are keen to learn from other member venues. I know we will benefit from the collaboration.”
