AEV Security Working Group Meeting - April 29 2015

The AEV Security Working Group had its first meeting of the year on April 29 at ACC Liverpool, and, after the opening formalities welcomed a number of new members.

The first items on the agenda, after the previous meeting's minutes had been approved, were presentations from Merseyside Police and the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO). After the counter-terrorism briefings, the group heard from Dave Humphreys of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and an update on the SIA's violence reduction work.

Round table discussion followed, and members agreed to share protocol documents with each other on how they individually managed lost children and vulnerable people. Members briefly updated the meeting  on their attendance at the Police Engagement Event on March 19, and the Project Griffin seminar on April 10.

The date for the next Security Working Group meeting was set for October 15 2015, and the meeting concluded with thanks to the speakers and ACC Liverpool for providing a venue and lunch for the group.
