Alden is now a mental health-first aider!

AA cert

After completing the Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA) course, Alden has received his certificate, confirming he is qualified to offer mental health first-aid.

Alden was very positive about the course content, saying, "We learnt practical skills that can be used every day, including how to spot the signs of mental health issues and feel confident guiding people towards appropriate support."

"but much more than that," he concluded, "the course has given me the tools to keep myself and my AEO, AEV and ESSA association colleagues healthy, encourage them to access support early when needed and stop preventable health issues arising by building a supportive open culture about mental health."

As part of an initiative originating with the Event Industry HR group to put mental health first aiders into every organisation, 16 members of the group attended a 'champions course' during Mental Health Awareness Week (13-17th May) to equip them with the tools and messages to raise awareness and encourage people within their own organisations to attend MHFA England training courses.
