CDM guidance updated by cross association group

The Event Supplier & Services Association (ESSA), the Association of Event Venues (AEV) and the Association of Event Organisers (AEO) has, today, released version 3.0 of their guidance for the Construction (Design & Management) 2015 regulations specific to Exhibitions, Trade Fairs and the Conference Sector.  These updates extend across web based resources and the cross platform CDM app.

The guidance, contained within the free to use resources, has seen some revisions relating to the Main Contractor (Organisers Official Contractors) and their obligations regarding Construction Phase Plans. Additionally, there have been revisions to the ‘Contractor' section, as defined in the guidance and their roles with regard to Principal Designer and Principal Contractor.  This is all to ensure that the information is correct at the time of release, keeping those using the information as well informed as possible.  Many of you will notice changes to the layout of version 3.0.  This was also deemed necessary to help support your navigation and understanding of the guidance.

Andrew Harrison, director of ESSA commented, “We have made some revisions to the guidance in line with our own industry learnings and feedback from the HSE to make sure that all users are kept up to date. We always expected this to be an ongoing learning process, hand in hand with the HSE,  and we will look to appraise the guidance on a regular basis and communicate future updates in a similar fashion.

The dowloadable guidance can be found on each respective association websites or please do visit and register at our CDM specific site www.cdm4events.org.uk and the app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play and the Windows Phone Store.
