We are happy to announce that the AEV/AEO/ESSA Health & Safety Working Group has appointed Emma Dengate, operations manager at Reed Exhibitions, as its new chair.

The cross association Health and Safety Working Group meets twice a year to discuss general health and safety issues faced by the industry and makes recommendations to the eGuide. The working group monitors and interprets legislative change and builds relationships with key bodies, updating the industry through the associations.

Dengate welcomed her appointment saying: “This working group has been instrumental in helping the industry manage changes like the advent of CDM regulations and promote safer practices through the cross-association Stop The Drop resource.”

“I am really looking forward to taking the chair, this is a fantastic opportunity to engage with all stakeholders across the industry from venues and organisers to stand builders and suppliers and use the opportunity to connect with the wider industry community over the coming years. I would like to thank my predecessor Paul Brough for his unstinting efforts coordinating and facilitating the group's work and I welcome his support as our vice-chair”.

Rachel Parker, AEV director echoed Dengate's sentiments, adding: “I'm very grateful to Paul for his expert guidance, and I'd like to extend a warm welcome to Emma as she assumes the chair of the Health and Safety Working Group. She embodies a wealth of expertise and knowledge in this field, and is the ideal choice for the role.”
