New AEV/AEO/ESSA Sustainability Working Group Chair announced.

New AEV/AEO/ESSA Sustainability Working Group Chair announced.
Tom Revell, sustainability manager at GES EMEA, has been appointed as Chair of the cross-association Sustainability Working Group, which meets twice a year to discuss and resolve sustainability issues across the industry, following Katie Clarke's two-year tenure.

Revell, who joined GES in 2016, recently steered the company through its fifth successive ISO20121 accreditation for best practice in sustainability. He has served on the working group for two years as GES' representative. He is looking forward to the challenge of taking up the chair, as he explained, “Participating with the working group, collaborating with other professionals who share my specialism to share advice and discuss pressing issues, has been fantastically useful and productive, so I'm relishing the chance to offer my services as chair. I'm indebted to Katie Clarke for her expert tenure as chair, and I am looking forward to leading the group with the same clarity and professionalism.”

Rachel Parker, AEV director, welcomed Revell to his new role, saying “Tom's credentials and enthusiasm for sustainability issues make him a great choice for the working group chair. The working groups are essential to the health and readiness of the industry, and sustainability issues are coming to the fore more urgently than ever.”

Revell will chair his first meeting on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the East of England Arena and Events Centre.
