Report: AEV Catering Working Group: 18/04/18

Ricoh Arena hosted our first Catering Working Group meeting of 2018, providing an appetising lunch and an insightful tour of their Stadium to the appreciation of those in attendance.

The morning's meeting followed a full agenda with active conversation covering topics including food safety training needs, fire risk assessments, sugar tax, and the food hygiene rating. An impromptu presentation from Alden took the group on a journey through the AEV structure and how the Association fits within the Event Industry Alliance.

Closing discussion points included an insightful lead from Sean Hopkinson (Amadeus Food NEC Group) who raised awareness to the legislations concerning the levels of acrylamide that is now permitted in food. This was met with appreciation from the group.

A final thank you to Ricoh Arena, a massive thank you to Olympia London's Stuart Tomlinson for stepping in to chair and extended gratitude to the attendees who travelled to Coventry.

Our next meeting takes place at The International Centre, Telford on 31st October 2018.
